Our Legacy: Over a Century of Care, Innovation, and Firsts

Rooted in Cleveland. Committed to Home. Focused on You.

In 1902, 13 visionary women came together with a simple but powerful mission: to bring skilled, compassionate care into the homes of Cleveland’s most vulnerable. What began as the VNA of Cleveland has grown into VNA of Ohio-a trusted leader in home health, hospice, and mental health services for more than 120 years.

We were the first. And we’ve never stopped leading.

Today, VNA of Ohio continues to care for thousands of individuals and families across eight counties in Northeast and Mid-Ohio. From the heart of Cleveland to the far corners of our region, we remain grounded in our founding purpose: to provide care where it’s needed most-at home.

In 2017, we joined forces with New Jersey-based VNA Health Group to strengthen our ability to deliver high-quality, innovative home-based care to Ohioans. Yet our roots remain right here, in the community that raised us.

A Century of firsts

Your Care is Our Focus.

VNA of Ohio exists for one reason: to serve. We deliver high-quality, comprehensive care that promotes independence and dignity-no matter your background, circumstance, or condition. From clinical excellence to emotional support, we care for the whole person and the whole family.

Our teams show up every day not just as professionals-but as people caring for people. Neighbors helping neighbors. Clevelanders walking into homes with purpose, humility, and heart.

Our stories prove it.

baby Carmen

Our pediatric patient, baby Carmen, was born with down syndrome. Today she is an active, thriving child but after her birth, she spent a lot of time in MetroHealth’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Once released, our pediatric care nurses visited her family and educated her parents about proper nutrition and feeding habits as well as cared for her after an open heart surgery…

Hear from Our Patient

Our patients and clients experience our amazing care every day.

“Our nurse, Jessica, was very polite, funny, personable, showed great care and concern and it felt like she was a part of the family. While taking care of my wife, I felt she stood out above the rest and is a special nurse. We need more people like her!”
